IPOA 2019 RESOLUTIONS

 

1. The IPOA opposes the legalization of marijuana and its derivatives for any purpose.

 

2. The IPOA supports eliminating the sunset on MVE officer authority.

 

3. The IPOA supports legislation requiring a person to provide identifiable information during a detention.

 

4. The IPOA supports legislation that will provide parity to public safety officials under Chapter 20.

 

5. The IPOA supports a centralized law enforcement academy facility that provides safe, efficient, and modernized training.

IPOA 2018 RESOLUTIONS

 

1.      The IPOA opposes the legalization of       marijuana and it's derivatives for any purpose.

 

2.      The IPOA supports eliminating the sunset on MVE officer authority.

 

3.      The IPOA supports legislation requiring a person to provide identifiable information during a detention.

 

4.      The IPOA supports legislation to reduce or eliminate the incidents of human trafficking.

 

5.      The IPOA supports funding to address physical and structural updates at the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy to ensure officer and staff safety.

IPOA 2017 RESOLUTIONS

 

1.       The IPOA opposes the legalization of marijuana and it's derivatives for any purpose.

 

2.       The IPOA supports creation of a

           statewide weapons permit   

           verification system.

 

3.       The IPOA supports Iowa's current asset

          forfeiture law and procedures.

 

4.       The IPOA opposes changes to Chapter 20 benefits and existing pension rates and plans.

 

5.       The IPOA supports clarifying language to ensure DOT/MVE peace officers have authority to enforce all laws of the State and regulations of the Department.

 

6.       The IPOA supports legislation requiring a person to provide identifiable information during a detention.
