Chris was raised in La Porte City, Iowa. Chris was hired by the Black Hawk County Sheriff’s Office in June 2006. Chris attended ILEA Academy (Class 214) in Johnston from January to April 2007. In October 2009, Chris was hired as an officer with the Waterloo Police Department. During Chris’s time with the Waterloo Police Department he has been assigned to1^st watch patrol, 2^nd watch patrol, and 3^rd watch patrol, VCAT (Violent Crime Apprehension Team), and is currently assigned to the Detective Bureau. Chris is also assigned to the Motor Unit and is the Drone Unit Coordinator. Chris is also a Driving Instructor with the department.

Chris has held several positions on the Waterloo Police Protective Association (WPPA) for the past 10 years. Including Vice President, 2^nd Vice President, and is currently the WPPA Secretary, and is also a contract negotiation committee member. Chris has also been involved with the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) and Iowa State Police Association (ISPA).
