2013 Annual Training Conference

April 23-24th, 2013

 

The 2013 Training Conference will be held on April 23rd and 24th, 2013. We have just finalized the location, the host facility will be the Stoney Creek Inn, Johnston Iowa. The IPOA will have a block of rooms reserved at the discounted rate of $84. plus tax.  We should have the training agenda posted by the end of January. Please mark these dates on your calendar now and make arrangements to attend. All training will be done at this location, several food and entertainment establishments within walking distance.

The dates for 2012 Training Conference were:

April 30th and May 1st, 2012.

"Street Crimes" training was held at the Prairie Meadows Hotel & Casino in Altoona,Iowa.

Pat McCarthy  was our featured speaker, he has developed this training for Law Enforcement Officers only. Pat spent 6 yrs. with the U.S. Marines Corps Reserve and is a 25 yr. veteran of the Chicago Police Department. He has earned 14 Special Department Commendations and more than 100 honorable mentions and letters of appreciation from the Director of the FBI and other Federal Agencies. 2011 Conference

The 2011 Annual Training Conference was held in Sioux City on May 2nd and 3rd. The Conference site and host Hotel was the Hilton Garden Inn. This years topic was," Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs", presented by Steve Cook. We held a raffle which included the winners choice of any Glock.  To view more photos from the Conference, open our Spring Iowa Law Enforcement Magazine located under Iowa Law Enforcement on the

2010 Conference

The 103rd  annual conference of the Iowa Association of Chiefs of Police and Peace Officers was held on April 13-14, 2010, at the Des Police Department PARC Recreation Center, 5374 E. University, Pleasant Hill.

Dr. George Thompson, president and founder of the Verbal Judo Institute, conducted a two-day "Basic Verbal Judo" workshop.
